As a small charter high school, PLA has a unique opportunity to offer students an academic program designed to prepare them for post-secondary education, with a focus on A-G completion, Advanced Placement, Honors courses, and participation in San Joaquin Delta College courses.
Dual enrollment opportunities are offered to students who have demonstrated the capability to manage the rigor of a college-level course.
A Culture of Academic Rigor
The faculty of PLA introduces a high level of academic rigor to all students in an effort to prepare them for post-secondary education.
Teachers participate in summer collaboration retreats to continue strengthening school culture, improving curriculum, and participating in Advanced Placement training.
Summer Math Program
Prior to the pandemic, PLA offered a Summer Math Program for incoming 9th-grade students and students requesting math acceleration. The program provided a targeted transition for students and introduced them to the academic expectations of the PLA campus.
